Orchestration is your research accelerator

  • Capture

Capture data automatically from the wet lab instruments.

  • Converge

Converge digital tool outputs into a single scientific record.

  • Carry

Carry scientific workflows, decisions, and business rules with data, wherever it goes.

Adoption path

Start anywhere and scale everywhere

  1. Start small

Connect a few key instruments or digital systems to begin your lab connectivity journey.

Frequently asked questions

Is lab orchestration the same as lab automation?

No. Automation controls instruments and workcells. Orchestration is the layer that keeps the data, context, and decisions in and around automation, or manual work, connected and usable.

How does Lab Orchestration work?

No individual legacy system has the context or intelligence needed to understand what it needs to do next or direct the work of other systems. Luma builds the orchestrated view across the systems that have pieces of the puzzle and tells other systems what to do next, translating experimental instructions to instrument runs, automating data analysis pipelines, and accelerating decisions and scientific understanding grows.

Does Luma replace my ELN or LIMS?

No. Luma connects to your existing ELN, LIMS, and scheduler rather than replacing them. Your scheduler continues to direct physical execution; Luma makes sure the data those systems produce arrives with its context intact.

Do I need full lab automation to use Luma?

No. Luma works whether your lab is fully automated, fully manual, or somewhere in between. The orchestration problem, keeping context connected to data, exists at every stage.

What instruments does Luma connect to?

Luma connects to a wide range of instruments already common in research labs. See the supported instruments list above.

Is Luma only for large enterprise labs?

No. Luma is built to start small and expand, from a single instrument on the bench to a globally connected R&D organization.
