Job Description

The IOPS Support Engineer will provide effective IT assistance across the business and will assist the Infrastructure and Operations Team Leader (IOTL) where necessary. The position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Wintel network as well as several Apple and Android devices. The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
  • Providing support (Desktop, Telephony, Printer, Scanner, Helpdesk)
  • Escalate IT issues to the IOTL where necessary
  • Undertaking small-to-medium IT projects as instructed by the IOTL
  • Monitoring network for outages
  • AV Installation & Monitoring
  • Troubleshooting of laptops and desktops
  • Troubleshooting WiFi and infrastructure issues
  • Reporting faults and maintaining change logs on servers, desktops and laptops
  • Ensuring updates and patches are current
  • Ensuring software is licensed accurately
  • Providing support for both Apple and Android devices
  • Documentation of processes and procedures
  • Assist the IOTL in Active Directory, DHCP and DNS management
  • Assist the IOTL in the rollout, deployment & migration of new hardware / technologies
  • Assist the IOTL in Asset Management
  • Assist the IOTL in other IOPS related activity
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the IOTL
  • Attending various expos throughout the year as required
  • Aiding as required to the IOTL
  • Aiding and support to colleagues in IT-related matters
  • Ensuring that a high level of customer service and support is provided to all internal and external customers

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience of network administration
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Strong helpdesk skills

Infrastructure and Operations Team Leader (IOTL)
