Accessing all your data in a timely fashion can provide several challenges, especially when your data is either buried in hundreds, or even thousands, of excel files or not managed at all.
The first challenge is to get the data into a database in a consistent fashion. In some cases the data has already been stored in a datamart/datamodel but is not in a good state for querying and visualizing. Where the data has not been stored in a datamart the dotmatics nucleus and register products can be used to import the data quickly and effectively into an existing or new database.
The second challenge is to make sure the data is correct. The dotmatics register and editable browser products can be used to QA/QC data that has been imported and make it ready for analysis.
The final challenge is to make the data suitable for fast retrieval. The dotmatics browser product has a built-in marting capability which allows the admin to reformat the data in the database using options such as pivot, average, and merge. They can also improve the performance of the database using options such as dynamic table creation and scheduled snapshoting.
