PrISE is designed to assist in the structural elucidation of drug metabolites - a key step in progressing a compound from the lab to the patient. This elucidation is achieved by comparing the fragment ion (MSMS) spectrum of the parent drug with those of its metabolites to pinpoint the sites of biotransformation.
The key steps are: assignment of the fragment ion spectrum for parent, comparison with the equivalent spectrum for the metabolite, and rationalisation of those daughter ions which differ. PrISE assists in the first of these steps.
